Part-time photographer with a full-time passion.
I began shooting pictures when my parents gave me my first digital camera in high school. I wasn't too sure what I was doing, but I knew I liked it. I continued putting it to good use working for the high school newspaper as a writer and photographer. It was then how I realized that photos and media brings the story to life. You read about people and events and the photos and media fed the imaginative mind to paint a picture of the story in the readers head.
I continued shooting in college for my college paper, and eventually became the media relations and broadcast intern for the school hockey team. It was there I got my first taste in full event photography -- Shooting fundraisers and the players out in the community.
It wasn't until after college when I stepped my game up and with the help of my mom, invested in some new equipment. However, once I moved into TV journalism, photography took a back seat. When I moved into the world of events and planning, I needed a creative outlet! That's when I picked up the camera again, and really spent time on honing my skills in technique, technology, editing, and my overall philosophy.
I like to listen to my clients wants, needs, learn their personalities, and use that for inspiration when shooting. Instead of just getting pictures for IG bragging, I try to give my clients a product that represents them.
