I have lived in the Seattle area for almost two years and have lived in Seattle Seattle for almost a year now. The scope of this series is to capture to emotions I feel when I'm walking or driving around the city I now call home.
Growing up on 5 acres in California and then living in North Dakota, Seattle is the first real city I've lived in. There's so many people, but in a way it's more lonely. Everything is just busy and much more fast paced. The city is so beautiful, but I am convinced some people that live in Seattle are too busy to notice.
That's what I want to catch. The streets and places walked by every day. The textures and buildings and everyday places. This isn't a studio. This is all shot in less than half a mile walk in downtown Seattle.
Speaking of alleys...
Last one, I promise. However, the green moss growing alongside the brick was too good to pass up.
I had the start and the end of the shoot mapped out, but in the middle I captured whatever caught my eye. This part accounts for more than half of the series because there was so much going on in a four block walk.
Colors. Reflection. Textures.
